Adrian Taffinder in Conversation: The Long-Form Interviews

5 June 2026 · 4 min read

Most of what circulates about Subconscious Surgery is short. A ninety-second clip. A line from a testimonial. A page like this one. It's useful, but it's compressed — and the work doesn't really survive compression. It lives in the long conversation, where there's room to ask the obvious sceptical question and actually sit with the answer.

Adrian has sat for a handful of those conversations over the years — long-form interviews on platforms built for depth rather than the scroll. Two of them are worth setting the time aside for. Here's what each one covers, and who each one is for.

The Evolver — An Empath's Way of Knowing

Recorded in 2019 for The Evolver, the consciousness-and-culture podcast hosted by Evolver co-founder Ken Jordan, this is the conversation that reaches furthest back. Across an hour and a quarter, Adrian and Ken trace the whole arc: where the work came from, what Adrian was doing before he had a name for it, and how an unusually precise read of other people became the spine of a method.

Two threads stand out. The first is lineage. Adrian talks about training under Dr. John — the teacher who also trained Jack Canfield of Chicken Soup for the Soul — and how that early grounding shaped everything that followed.

The second is the body. Years before somatic became a wellness buzzword, the conversation gets specific about how the body carries the truth the conscious mind talks around, and what it takes to read that signal cleanly — so you find the actual block, not the well-rehearsed story about it.

If you've ever wanted to know where Subconscious Surgery genuinely comes from — the real version, not the marketing one — this is where to start. Listen to *An Empath's Way of Knowing* on The Evolver.

Pathway2Grow — In Conversation with Safaraz Ali MBE

Where The Evolver is about origins, this two-part interview is about application. It was recorded after Adrian spoke at a Coffee & Natter business event in Birmingham, and it's hosted by Safaraz Ali MBE, founder of the Pathway2Grow business community — which means it's pitched at people who run things. Founders. Operators. The analytically-minded.

Across roughly an hour and a half over two parts, it works through the question that brings most high-performers to this work in the first place: why does someone intelligent, capable, and well-read keep hitting the same wall? Adrian lays out his approach as a deductive technique — a way of finding the one specific belief quietly running the show, and clearing the charge that keeps it in place. In a room of business owners, that framing lands differently than it does in a wellness setting. It's less about feeling better and more about removing the thing that's costing you.

It's the more accessible of the two — no prior interest in consciousness or personal development required, just a pattern you're tired of repeating. Watch part one and part two on Safaraz Ali's channel.

Why Listen to Either

A landing page can tell you what a method claims to do. It can't show you the person behind it thinking out loud, fielding the hard question, walking back through the decade that produced the work. That's what the long form is for.

Two conversations, a few hours, a far fuller picture than any page here can give you. If something in them lands — the precision, the refusal to settle for insight that changes nothing — that's usually the signal it's worth a conversation of your own.
